Police divers will search the canals of a Gold Coast estate for clues into the murder of New Zealand man Tony Williams, who was found dead on Christmas Eve.
Mr Williams, a 38-year-old hospital orderly and part time R'n'B singer from Tauranga, was found at a unit on Sunshine Boulevard, Mermaid Waters, around 2pm (AEST) on December 24.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Williams had suffered injuries to his head and body from being struck with a weapon.
A homicide investigation involving up to 30 detectives has yet to lead to an arrest, prompting police to renew their calls for public assistance.
"Assistance from the public often proves invaluable during these investigations," Detective Acting Superintendent Brian Swan said.
"We are asking for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, people or vehicles, near the vicinity of 139 Sunshine Boulevard, Mermaid Waters, on Friday December 23, 2011, to call us."
Superintendent Swan said police were searching the canal waters near Mr Williams' home for clues.
Police had previously called on former partners of Mr Williams to come forward, with detectives investigating the possibility that one of the father of two's ex-lovers had been involved in his death.
