An 80-year-old Mosgiel man's death was the direct result of a car accident even though he did not appear to have been injured, a coroner found yesterday.
Dunedin Coroner Jim Conradson said Clive Milverton's car collided with a vehicle driven by debt-collector Shelley Houliston when she went through a give-way sign in Mosgiel on July 2 last year.
Neither driver appeared to have been physically injured in the accident.
Later that day, Mr Milverton became unwell. He was taken, unconscious, to hospital that night and died two days later.
Ms Houliston was charged with careless driving, but later discharged without conviction.
