Masterton police are appealing for information after brazen thieves posed as employees at a local automotive workshop and took money from customers.
Advanced Automotive on Chapel Street was burgled at about 9am on Saturday, Wairarapa CIB acting Detective Sergeant Emma Foote said.
"We are aware that some customers entered (the workshop) while the offenders were there on Saturday morning," she said.
"It's alleged the offenders pretended to be working in the shop and took money from some of those people. We are keen to locate these customers and speak with them further."
Ms Foote said police also wanted to hear from anyone who saw a group of people, including at least two men, pushing or riding an orange and purple Buell motorcycle.
