Today's 5.0 magnitude aftershock has caused more problems for Halswell Primary School in Christchurch.
The aftershock caused the ground to crack across the school field and underneath the school's hall.
To make matters worse, water and silt poured out of the fissure leaving "silt volcanoes" on the school's field.
Halswell Principal Bruce Topham told Newstalk ZB the aftershock had left the school with a lot to clean up.
The school was one of four or five in the region that were severely damaged in the massive September 4 earthquake.
