The widow of Dutch-born painter Walter Bakkenes has donated over 250 of his works to the Rotorua Museum. Mr Bakkenes was regarded as an emerging talent in Europe and moved to Rotorua after the chaos of World War II where he continued to paint until his death in the 1980's.
