Matamata trainer Roger James is amazed that he is likely to get his star mare One Under fit for tomorrow's Waikato Draught Sprint (1400m) at Te Rapa.
One Under copped a huge buffeting when favourite in the Anniversary Handicap at Trentham on January 20.
But James said she came away with relatively minor injuries and has progressed so well that she is expected to be ready.
"The interference was so bad that the horse outside her hit the running rail as well as her," he said.
"I was surprised she came back so well. She wasn't too sore but she was really stiff."
But James realises she has a tough task to beat Sunline.
