If you thought you'd seen it all, you were wrong.

In a case of togs or undies, Auckland icecream store Giapo has blurred the lines between dumplings and icecream with their latest creation for Chinese New Year.

Giapo was offering handmade dumplings – filled with dark chocolate bourbon whisky, Hawke's Bay plum or Kerikeri avocado flavoured icecream – to celebrate the Year of the Dog.

The dumplings were pan fried and topped with sweet soy gravy.

Giapo is known for its crazy icecreams, with unique flavours turning their back on traditional chocolate and vanilla, instead reaching for inspiration in the likes of fried pizza and arancini rice balls.

They weren't the only ones cranking out food mash-ups.

Tip Top and Coca-Cola Amatil collaborated to produce Fruju L&P in time for this summer.

Kiwis have also seen L&P flavoured Whittaker's chocolate, Wattie's tomato sauce and mince pie flavoured chips, and Choc Bar Mallowpuffs, to name a few.

Across the ditch, sweet and savoury has come together with a Vegemite-flavoured ice-block inflicted on our Aussie cousins.
