We came here because it was a sunny day so a waterfront cafe seemed ideal.
Parking is to be avoided in the CBD.
We walked in and immediately thought the outdoor seating would be best today.
The most unusual thing on the menu was the Andalusian eggs - three eggs fried in Andalusian spices, dressed with toasted cumin seeds, served with a tomato and coriander salsa on crispy wood-fired Turkish bread ($14).
We ordered the aforementioned Andalusian eggs, which were fine without being spectacular; a Benny @ Limon ($13) - the cafe's version of eggs benedict with poached eggs on wilted spinach and (supposedly) crispy sweet corn fritters, dressed with hollandaise; and a Mediterranean breakfast ($14.50) of sliced tomatoes, cucumber, with herbs, hard-boiled egg, fried haloumi cheese, olives, feta, olive oil, and honey served with warm wood-fired Turkish bread. Which posed the main question of how can a breakfast comprising essentially salad and cheese cost more than the other, more complicated, dishes?
The service was relaxed but efficient.
The coffee was very good.
We recommend if you come here, perhaps try later in the day for the dinner or tapas menus.
Overall we thought the Spanish theme worked well and the waterfront setting was just what the day called for.
