There will be glitz and glamour tomorrow at Ellerslie's premier event - Auckland Cup Day, which is expected to draw in the crowds.
Those taking the day off can enjoy sampling some good food at the Gourmet Village and sipping on something tasty at the Lindauer Lounge.
There will be 10 races to watch and the first will start at 1.10pm. The last will run at around 6.35pm.
Following the races will be the much-anticipated Birdcage Bash.
Tomorrow's Cup Day will follow a successful Derby Day at the weekend, when media and arts student Claudia Campbell won the popular Prix de Fashion contest for her elegant ensemble put together by her sister, mother and grandmother. "It was a bit of a family affair ... .
"I bought the top but my grandma altered it. She also made the skirt. My mum and sister designed the whole thing. I bought the hat, which was designed by Monika Neuhauser."
The 20-year-old from Cambridge took home the top prize, worth about $30,000, including luxury cosmetics, jewellery, a trip to the Melbourne Cup, shopping vouchers and flights for two to New York.
Auckland Cup Week wraps up on Saturday, Diamond Day, when fashion will also be a highlight.
