We asked Ladi6, who is one of the many local music stars hitting the beach pub circuit in the coming weeks, to discuss the joys of touring and what it's like to have a job keeping the holidaying hordes entertained.
Your preferred transport for summer touring?
By van with regular swim stops please!
Who does the driving and who's not allowed to drive?
The tour manager does the driving usually, because usually that's part in parcel of the job description, otherwise whoever feels up to it. No licence, no driving. That's a rule.
What's on the car stereo?
Beats all day.
If you had a talking GPS in the vehicle what famous voice would you want?
Oohhh ... maybe Liam Neeson?
Your favourite summer venue?
Opononi Hotel, because the water is right across the road. And of course Christchurch, because that's home.
Favourite spot on tour itinerary which isn't a venue?
Pelorus River - weehee!

Any New Year's Eve gig traditions?
To stay sober and responsible until the tour's finished (usually we have gigs after NYE). This tradition will not be adhered to this NYE however (well, by me, anyway ...)
What's the difference between a summer pub crowd and a winter city pub audience?
New Zealand winter, what's that? I haven't experienced one of those in two years! Everyone's drinking still right? So I'm sure there's not that much difference - is there?
What's this year's likely encore song. Is it the same as last year's?
Dunno ... Could You Be Loved by Bob Marley?
Can you really call this work?
Yeah, but not if you love it like I do. I call it more of a passion.
