A tragic-comedy about a friendly but doomed rooster won this year's Best Short Film award at the Show Me Shorts Festival in Auckland last night. Phill Simmond's film Noise Control, the winning entry, which was funded by the New Zealand Film Commission, is about a rooster who, having befriended local children, pays the price for keeping neighbours awake.
