Freightways Ltd will join the NZX 15 Index from September 21, replacing Fisher & Paykel Appliances Holdings Ltd.
Companies eligible to be included in the NZX 15 are ranked by six-month average free-float market capitalisation, and meet specified liquidity requirements.
The exchange's equity indices are used as benchmarks for the sharemarket. The NZX 15 was at 5777.93 today, up 11 points or 0.21 per cent on yesterday's close. It peaked in August around 5800, after climbing sharply during July from about 4800.
