Cash donations, computer hardware and chalices have been stolen from Auckland's Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell.
Footage from the cathedral's security system shows a man enter the building and wrench open a secure donation box to remove money after a service, the cathedral's dean Reverend Jo Kelly-Moore said.
Computer hardware and chalices used for communion were nabbed the same day.
Ms Kelly-Moore said the doors of the building were kept open for the community - and the recent theft was an abuse of the situation.
"There is frustration and disappointment that the open doors of Auckland's Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell are being treated as an opportunity for theft," the church said in a statement.
