What was your greatest holiday?
Safari in Africa. Africa is like mother nature on steroids, everything is so big, vast, ancient and spiritual. It's the greatest place on the planet.
And the worst?
No holiday is good when you are sick. I was as crook as a dog for five days in Europe, an experience I never want to repeat.
If we bump into you on holiday, what are you most likely to be doing?
Walking, talking or organising something.
If we could teleport you to one place in New Zealand for a week-long holiday, where would it be?
The Abel Tasman Track, it's one of the most beautiful places in the country in summer.
How about for a dream holiday internationally?
I have been to a lot of places but now I want to travel everywhere with the kids. A cruise in the Caribbean with them would be my dream holiday because they get to experience different cultures and I get to relax.
What's the dumbest thing you've ever done when travelling?
I forgot my passport and couldn't retrieve it because if I did I would miss the occasion I was going to, so they let me fly overseas and back without a passport. It was an incredible 48 hours but totally dumb forgetting my passport.

What's the best travel tip you've ever been given?
Learn something new about someone you don't know, you never know what gems will come from it, like sightseeing in Stockholm on a Segway.
What was the most memorable meal you've had while travelling?
Guinea pig in Cusco. The restaurant was an experience in itself, serving the best guinea pig in Peru but we ate at claw-foot bathtub tables with glass covers watching goldfish swimming around below. It was a very memorable night.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
An aquamarine ring from Norway.
Favourite airport to land at?
Dubai - the lounge had hotel rooms.
What's the next trip you've got planned?
I am looking forward to hosting a Caribbean cruise next year where we stay in Chile and Miami and then cruise to Mexico, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, St Maarten, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico with MSC Cruises. Wanna come?
