The ever-busy Craig 'Wiggy' Wiggins is in Napier this week for the Jetsprinting AGM and prize-giving. He catches up with The Country Early Edition's Dom George to update us on what's new in Wiggy's world and does he plan on slowing down any time soon?
The Jetsprinting season is all done so after Wiggins has celebrated their achievements he's off to the Pork Board Conference to MC and then of course the FMG Young Farmer Grand Final which is coming up shortly.
This is after his stint at the Fieldays Fencing competition and the Ewe Hoggart awards a while ago.
So we guess the answer to "Are you slowing down Wiggy?" is: No.
Wiggy loves the chance to bring rural and agricultural life into the spotlight so he doesn't mind traipsing all over New Zealand bringing country life to the masses.
When Wiggins isn't a rural ambassador he keeps himself busy fencing; even after he has broken his thumb horse riding.
The pain of smacking one's digit with a hammer is truly a unique experience.
However the issue that has really got Craig's attention at the moment is the Ashburton water plant controversy.
Plans to bottle and sell Ashburton's water is a deal so unpopular there are 40,000 signatures against it already.
The authorities seem to be ignoring the petition and plan to go ahead with the scheme despite the opposition.
Wiggy had a chat to Ashburton's Mayor about this deal - find out what he told him in the full interview with Dom George below:
