Bevy of blonde TVNZ clones
TVNZ tried to plug the annual Best of the Box awards, run by TV Guide, with this picture of their contenders in the Sexiest Female category. "Is this sexist?" asks an indignant Radio Live's Sean Plunket, leaving it to his Facebook followers to mull it over. "Not sure," says Jeremy Andersen, tongue firmly in cheek. "Could we please see a pic of each of the contestants in a sexy pose? Perhaps a wet T-shirt or bikini." "More importantly, is it cloning?" asks Aaron Lucas. TVNZ later described the post as "ill-considered" and said it was quickly removed: "We will be looking at things internally to avoid future instances such as this."
Hard to put into words
"Does anyone remember 'Sadly, Hadlee bowled badly to Radley'?" asks Roger, of Pukekohe.
"We often say this to each other as commiseration when we have a disappointment such as baking that goes flat, or vegetable seeds that don't germinate. Cricket commentators have so much time to fill I suspect they invent these interesting sayings in advance and wait for an opportune time to use them."
Stats say sell, sell, sell
Rihari Wilson says that, according to the latest statistics, in his modest suburb there live ... "one optometrist, two lawyers, three pharmacists, four veterinarians, five doctors and 58 real estate agents. I find this amazing," he says.
