Holden is giving the SS variant of its new Commodore VX line-up more of a muscular look. New Zealand motoring writers will view the VX range at the launch in New South Wales in two weeks.
The styling of the V8-powered VX models has been of particular interest because of the bold design steps Holden Special Vehicles is likely to take with the new Commodore.
As expected, the SS has moved a step closer to that of the high-performance HSV models, with side skirts and an even more aggressive front bumper housing round foglights.
The VX range will come with a choice of three engines: a base 3.8-litre V6, supercharged V6 or 5.7-litre V8. The SS gets the boosted V6 or V8.
The V8 gets a hike in power to 225kW. The V6 gets a more advanced knock sensor to reduce coarseness.
