A child has been hit by a vehicle outside Rotorua Intermediate School.
The crash happened about 8.20am, on Malfroy Rd, a police media spokeswoman confirmed.
Ambulance paramedics attended to the child - a student of the school - at the scene.
Acting Sergeant Regan Framp said the "little girl" hadn't checked both ways before she crossed from the grass verge.
"She has a small graze on her leg, but is otherwise fine.
"We have told her in future she needs to make sure to use the crossing, especially on busy mornings."
A Rotorua Daily Post photographer said the girl was now heading back in class.
