An Auckland woman who's accused of setting fire to toilet paper in a Hamilton supermarket aisle has had her name suppressed.
The 20-year-old made a brief appearance in the Hamilton District Court todayand was remanded without plea on a charge of theft of grocery items worth $300 and intentional damage by fire property of Countdown Chartwell knowing that danger to life was likely to ensue on January 16.
The small fire forced the evacuation of Chartwell Shopping Centre at 5.48pm on the day.
Duty solicitor Rhianna Laybourn successfully argued for suppression for the woman's name on the basis that she suffered from depression.
Community Magistrate Ngaire Mascelle granted the woman bail on the condition that she not enter Countdown Chartwell and reside in her Auckland home.
