A man suffered multiple serious injuries when he was attacked by a steer while working in a stockyard near Taihape this morning.
Two men had been attempting to climb out of the yard in Pukeokahu, east of Taihape, when they were charged by the steer.
A local man in his 50s was bunted and flung several metres out of the yard.
He landed on his head, suffering multiple serious injuries.
The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was called and an on-board St John intensive care paramedic stabilised the man at the scene.
