A homicide investigation has been launched into the death of a man who was dropped off at hospital with serious head injuries by a motorcycle gang.
The 24-year-old Otara man was dropped off at Middlemore Hospital about 1pm on Sunday by Tribesmen motorcycle gang members in a silver Honda Odyssey motor vehicle.
He died in hospital late yesterday.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted today.
Anyone with knowledge of how the man came to receive injuries or who was involved is asked to contact police.
Police are also interested in any sightings of the vehicle, registration number DBK440, on the weekend or any current sightings of it.
