Fire Safety investigators say initial indications are that a large fire in Glendene on Friday night was cause by leaking LPG.
An investigation is ongoing into the blaze on Bancroft Ave but the Fire Service have just tweeted a picture of the gutted house and updated the suspected cause.
It took seventeen fire crew to extinguish the fire at the house after they were called to the blaze about 9pm.
A firefighter on the scene said initially two trucks were called, but on their approach they could see a large fire and made the call for additional crew.
He said the fire was caused by a gas cylinder explosion inside a large, single-storey house at the end of a driveway.
"It was complicated by large cylinders on the outside and concern about other buildings."
He said the fire was successfully contained and firefighters were dampening down the scene. The occupants of the house all evacuated safely.
