A truck, bus and a number of cars have collided at a busy intersection in Central Auckland.
The crash happened at the Symonds St and Karangahape Rd intersection at 8:45am. It is causing some delays in city traffic.
The truck and bus collided, and then the bus crashed into up to five cars, police said.
One person with injuries was taken to Auckland Hospital as a precaution.
The left hand lane of Karangahape Rd is blocked off by police. Constable Jordan Kouse said the bus was travelling along Karangahape Rd towards the city when it collided with a truck that was turning left on to Karangahape Rd from Symonds St.
The bus then collided with cars that were in the right hand turning lane of Karangahape Rd waiting to turn on to Symonds St.
The front of one car is smashed. The right hand side of a Courier Van was also hit. The left side front window and front left door of the bus were smashed in the collision.
The car and courier van have been towed from the scene. The bus is on a tow truck ready to be taken away. There's a smattering of glass on the road.
Police are guiding traffic past the crash scene. The truck involved in the crash has minor damage to its front right side.
YoYo Yng, a worker at Gloria Jean's Coffee, which is just up the road from the crash, said there was chaos for about 20 minutes. "We didn't really see it but lots of people came into the cafe commenting on the crash," she said.
