Pre-packaged sandwiches on display shelves that seem to have several layers of cheese, ham, avocado. They look delicious. BUT if you lift off the top layer of bread, you find thin strips of cheese, ham or avocado carefully layered at the front, and nothing but lettuce behind. I never buy again from these places.

We would like to thank the four chaps who so very kindly changed our tyre last Friday when we were travelling near Taupo. They had been travelling behind us for quite a while and noticed the back tyre on our car was going down. We were very appreciative of their thoughtfulness and kindness to three older women.

Could the makers of shampoo and conditioner increase the font size on the bottles. When I am in the shower I am not wearing my glasses!

My 12-year-old grandson helped out his Mum's team in the Relay for Life at the Millennium Institute in the weekend. Jakob's mum is a breast cancer survivor and is now helping others with cancer by fundraising. Jakob is a proud kid and wanted to help his mum.

I am used to driving in Auckland's traffic and not expecting much courtesy at all, but I was pleasantly surprised the other day when an oncoming bus driver stopped the traffic behind him to allow the five of us waiting on the median strip to right-turn, to cross. We'd been waiting there for ages in nose-to-tail crawling traffic, and not one driver was decent enough to slow and make a gap so we could cross over. Further down the trip to work and a similar situation with nose-to-tail traffic crawling in the opposite direction, and all I wanted to do was right-turn across the traffic into my office car park. I settled in for what normally would be a long, long, long wait when a driver kindly slowed and created a gap for me to cross over. It made my day the other day to have not one, but two drivers who were considerate to other road users!

Why do so many people misuse the word "discrimination"? Just because a supermarket bolts the eftpos machines too high does NOT mean they are discriminating against the vertically challenged!
