A 32-year-old Hamilton man has appeared in court charged with the kidnapping of Rae Portman.
The man appeared in Papakura District Court today. He was granted name suppression and has been remanded in custody.
Ms Portman, 33, has not been seen since she left a Mt Albert motel on June 20.
She was four-months pregnant at the time of her disappearance.
Her car was found about two weeks after she was reported missing.
Police are treating her disappearance as a homicide.
Detective Inspector Mark Gutry said more charges are likely to follow.
"The homicide investigation team are still working hard on this enquiry and need the public's assistance.
"If anyone has information they are urged to contact Counties Manukau Police immediately or call 0800 RAEPORTMAN. We want to find Rae's body and bring her home to her family and friends."
