A man and woman missing at the Ohau ski field in the South Island back country overnight have been found this morning.
The pair were found about 8am, said a friend who had been in contact with the family.
It's understood there was a whiteout when the pair reached the top of a hill yesterday and they became disoriented making their way back down the mountain.
The pair were said to be experienced skiers and it was understood they were well-equipped and knew the area.
They were now at the Ohau ski lodge with their relieved family.
Police Inspector Peter Hegarty said earlier today that the search resumed this morning after the pair did not return yesterday afternoon.
