Police have confirmed that a death on the Canterbury University campus today was not suspicious.
Christchurch police were called to the campus in Ilam at about 8.30am today after the body of a 20-year old male student was found on the Level 5 roof of the Central Library.
The body was found by a contractor on the site. Police said the death is not considered suspicious and the matter has been referred to the coroner.
In a statement, the university said the death "appears to be an isolated incident".
