Christchurch police are warning motorists to be careful after several minor crashes at an intersection with no working traffic lights.
The traffic lights at the intersection of Blenheim Road and Manderville Street were not working after a crash overnight damaged the control box and signals, Sergeant Lindsay Turner said.
There had been several minor accidents this morning as motorists tried to negotiate their way through the intersection.
Motorists should take care when travelling through the intersection, he said.
The traffic lights would not be fixed until Monday or Tuesday.
