The family of a Kiwi woman fighting for her life in the US will know today whether she is likely to survive a near-drowning.
Candice Warren, 24, was in Utah for a cousin's wedding when she was found at the bottom of a pool on Wednesday.
She had reportedly been at the bottom of the swimming pool at a residential complex for some time before anybody noticed, although details on what happened aren't yet known.
Her father, Roma Warren, flew to her hospital bedside. Yesterday he told Candice's aunt, Sandra Morris, that his daughter was in a stable condition.
"They have reduced the medication that she is on and will test for brain activity," Morris said. "They're just trying to get a response."
The family expected to hear the outcome of those tests this afternoon.
