Seventy drivers were found to have excess breath alcohol during a police crackdown on alcohol and drug-impaired motorists in West Auckland at the weekend.
Waitakere police, the traffic alcohol group and Waitemata District traffic units stopped nearly 10,000 vehicles at 11 checkpoints in Waitakere from Friday evening to early Sunday, police spokesman Kevin Loughlin said.
