Point Break fans have slammed the first trailer for a remake of the Keanu Reeves action classic, calling it "god awful" and asking why the studio is bothering.
The new film sees Luke Bracey replacing Keanu Reeves as FBI agent Johnny Utah, and Edgar Ramirez as Patrick Swayze's surffer criminal Bodhi.
In the original, Utah goes undercover to infiltrate a gang of mask-wearing criminals with no motive other than to bring down powerful financial institutions. He and Bodhi become good friends.

The remake of Kathryn Bigelow's cult classic had its first trailer release today - a high octane two minutes that includes plenty of plane and motorbike stunts.
But fans of the original film were not happy, with many asking why Warner Bros was bothering remaking the 1991 film.
They urged viewers to watch the original over the new film, and took to Twitter to complain.
Directed by Kurt Wimmer, Point Break is set for release at the end of the year.
Point Break's trailer release comes at the same time as a trailer for Reeves' new film, a horror directed by Eli Roth called Knock Knock.
