A horde of giant gummy bears have taken up residence on a footpath in the Maltese capital Valletta - all as part of the Malta Street Art Festival.
Drawn in chalk by Dutch artist Leon Keer - nicknamed the 'Chalk King' for his mind-bending creations - the bears 'come to life' when viewed from just the right angle.
From the street the bears look like shapeless blobs of colour, but viewed from above they reveal a slightly macabre scene as the bear-shaped gelatinous confections appear to gather around a fallen friend.
Keer's optical illusions have popped up in public spaces around the world as commissions or as part of arts festivals.
