The inside word to ensure you enjoy all the action on and off the track this season.
• As many areas oncourse sell out pre-raceday, ensure you get your tickets and hospitality ahead of time from Ellerslie's online ticket store at ellerslie.co.nz.
• Need to collect your pre-purchased tickets on the day? These can be collected from the Ticket Collection Booth beside the main public entrance (Gate 6).
• Not sure what to wear? You can never be too overdressed for a trip to the races.
Visit ellerslie.co.nz to make sure that you are familiar with the dress code guidelines that apply to the Ascot Stand and all the private hospitality areas on the course.
• Have a question on raceday? For all queries on a raceday, visit the Raceday Office (ground floor, Ascot Stand) where you can also buy a racebook ($3 each).
• Eftpos terminals are available in the Raceday Office and in other locations oncourse including most bars. However, plan ahead and bring cash to avoid delays.
• Ellerslie is fully licensed; however you can bring your own food, non-alcoholic unopened beverages, umbrellas, chairs and picnic tables into public areas oncourse. BYO alcohol is not permitted oncourse.
• Travel to Ellerslie via taxi, train or car. If you are driving, enter the racecourse via Gate 9, off Morrin St (Tecoma St motorway exit if you are travelling south or Ellerslie/Panmure if you are driving north) to avoid traffic delays.
• Free parking is available; however you will need to carry your picnic provisions into the licensed areas oncourse to set up for the day. If you are parking in Ellerslie's Southern Motorway carpark on a Saturday, remember to remove your car by midnight to avoid the risk of being towed before the Sunday Car Fair.
• Children are welcome provided they are under the watchful eye of a parent or guardian - admission is free for anyone under 15.
