The 2018 Zespri Bay of Plenty ExportNZ Awards have opened for nominations.

The 2018 Zespri Bay of Plenty ExportNZ Awards have opened for nominations.

Entries are now open to the 2018 Zespri Bay of Plenty ExportNZ Awards for export businesses based in the region.

The ExportNZ awards programme shares the inspirational stories of Kiwi exporters highlighting the ingenuity, innovation and sales achievements of the Bay of Plenty's export sector.

The awards programme has been running for 28 years and is a crucial way to recognise the role of exporters.

The very nature of the business means exporters often have more presence offshore than onshore, and the awards are an excellent way to help them share their success stories, along with the highs and lows they've had to overcome.

This year, there is the opportunity for some of the winners to qualify for entry into the New Zealand International Business Awards (NZIBA), run by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE).

The collaboration between NZTE and ExportNZ will create a cohesive and exciting programme of awards for 2018, culminating in the NZIBA at the end of the year.

ExportNZ Bay of Plenty has been running the awards since 1990 as part of its mission to champion the value of exporting for New Zealand and New Zealanders.

Entries for the awards are open and close on May 11. Finalists will be announced on May 17.
The 2018 awards will be presented at a gala dinner on Friday, June 22 in Tauranga.
