Young farmers take spirit of competition to D Max

The country's best young farmers have been making a noise over Isuzu D-Max utes this week.

The seven finalists in the National Bank Young Farmer of the Year contest will sign off their bid for glory with the toot of a D-Max horn, at the televised grand final in Masterton tonight.

"It's the final hurdle in this enthralling contest," said Greg MacDonald, the general manager of Isuzu Utes NZ. "It demonstrates all that is smart and trusted in New Zealand farming.

"After completing all their tasks, the seven finalists run to their designated Isuzu D-Max, lean in the window and sound the horn to announce they've finished."

The 2011 champion and winner of the Agri-sports Challenge will get complimentary use of a new Isuzu D-Max for 12 months. Each regional final winner is off on a hunting safari as part of their prize package.
