The Country Today - power outage edition

It's the whole show in one go! Today The Country is brought to you by 1979 to commemorate the Abbotsford landslide which happened this day back then. We're also looking into the power outage for the poor folk in Central Hawkes Bay and Taupo.

Dom is flying solo because Jamie is away in Queenstown for the PGG Wrightson Real Estate Annual Conference.

On with the show: First up is Danny Gough, Unison's Relationship Manager with the latest on the massive power outages in parts of Central Hawkes Bay and Taupo.

Phil Duncan joins Dom to talk what's happening with the weather around New Zealand.

Rob Fyfe is the CEO of Icebreaker and former Air New Zealand boss. He was one of the keynote speakers at the PGG Conference. Jamie caught up with him for a chinwag.

Today's panel comprises of David Broome and Don Nicolson; or the Double Ds as Dom calls them. Which is nice.

It's Monday which means it's Jim Hopkins o'clock. This week our rural raconteur and Dom take Jamie's absence as an opportunity to destroy his rugby career; in particular his defensive frailties.

Amy Scott is a former corporate lawyer turned motivational speaker caught up with Jamie at the PGG conference today.

Finally we round off the week in farming with Tony Leggett and his report from The New Zealand Farmers Weekly.
