Clayton McCallum, 4, competed on Honey during the Stratford A & P Show.

Clayton's mum Catherine Ladd says he was the only competitor in the Leadline classes which meant there was no competition. However, he had a blast showing his pony and taking in the sights at the show.

Catherine, who lives at Huiroa with her family, also competed in the show's western riding classes on two quarter horses. Competing on stallion Riarmas The Last Straw, Catherine won the Junior Horse Trail, Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and Adult Hunt Seat Equitation categories which meant Riarmas The Last Straw was named as the High Point Junior Horse.

Catherine also rode gelding Wimpys King Whiz, winning the Junior Horse Ranch Riding category. Catherine, who is a professional horse trainer, says she had a great time at the show.

"It is great to get out with the horses I am training and showcase them but I am so lucky I can incorporate my job and my passion with my family time also. The Stratford Show is extra special as after we have finished riding in the afternoon we have time to go over to the sideshows with the children and have some extra fun."
