Friesian bulls were slightly down on the last few weeks.

Friesian bulls were slightly down on the last few weeks.

Cattle prices eased at the Stortford Lodge store sale yesterday.

R2 and R3 friesian bulls made up 272 head of the offering of about 530 head and sold slightly down on the last few weeks.

However, the story was different in the sheep pens where a pen of 261 two-tooth ewes from Otupae Station on the Napier-Taihape road scanned in-lamb at 165 per cent made $223.

Other pens made around the $180-plus mark.

A pen of 376 5- and 6-year-old ewes from Cricklewood Station, near Wairoa, all scanned in-lamb with triplets, made $182.

The quality of the store lamb offering was up on the three or four weeks, which was reflected in the prices.

Buyers were from Hawke's Bay with support from Wanganui, Gisborne and Sanson buyers.
