Wool Board director Tim Ensor is to chair the fibre promotional company, Wools of NZ.

He replaces Richard Janes, who stepped down in October to head the StrongWools NZ task force.

The task force is assessing the business viability of StrongWools - a marketing company proposed by the $3.3 million McKinsey
plan for industry restructuring.

Mr Ensor says his new job at Wool NZ is to protect its assets and maintain relationships with customers while the StrongWools business plan is developed.

"I see the need for stability as we move through this transition period as being paramount to maintaining the confidence of growers and our markets," he says.

The company has also appointed to its board John Isles, a company director with experience in wool processing.
