“Born and raised in South Island, Kirsty held a deep appreciation for the natural beauty surrounding her. She was known for her love of the outdoors, often spending her free time exploring the hills and lakes of Otago, hiking with friends or simply enjoying the peacefulness that nature brought her,” it said.
“She had a quiet reverence for life, finding joy in small things – a morning coffee, a shared laugh or the sight of a sunrise over Lake Dunstan.”
The obituary said she was a beloved daughter, sister and friend.
“The Hall family extends their heartfelt thanks for the overwhelming support, prayers and kindness they have received. During this time of immense sorrow, they ask for continued compassion and privacy as they navigate the days ahead.”
Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing, and the death will be referred to the coroner.
Emergency services responded to the single-vehicle crash on Thursday at about 10pm.
A police spokesman said one person died at the scene and three others were taken to hospital with minor-to-moderate injuries.
