Martin Napper, the market manager for AVOCO, New Zealand's largest export group for avocados, talked to Rowena Duncum on The Country about record returns for exports to Korea.

AVOCO exports about two-thirds of New Zealand's avocados.

Napper says Korea in the last three years has grown to be our second biggest market by volume and third biggest by value.

It takes over a million trays from all origins, and will probably hit 2 million trays this year.

He says they've done a lot of promotions and samplings in supermarkets, generally presenting the avocado as a smoothie.
