Fonterra will be running their first free Fonterra Family Day at the Dannevirke and Districts A&P Show tomorrow.

Events include breakfast for the children, colouring competitions, the popular dairy detective competition and the Highgate Farm milk-barrel train.

The day begins with breakfast at 8.30am and runs through to 2pm and although everything is free, a gold coin donation to Ronald MacDonald House will be collected at the train.

"All schools and children are welcome to take part," Tony Haslett, Fonterra's area manager for Hawke's Bay, said.

"Fonterra has run a similar event at the Hawke's Bay Show which proved very popular."

The Fonterra Family Day will be based at the Dannevirke Sports Club at the showgrounds.
