Over 100 children and their caregivers tried their luck at catching a fish at the Lake Rotomanu trout fishing day on October 31.

Despite wind and rain from mid-morning, there was a great turnout at the event.

The barbecue sausages and chocolate fish available at the Inglewood Rod, Gun and Recreation Club's tent also meant no one went away empty handed.

With 420 rainbow trout released into Lake Rotomanu for the event, there are still plenty more fish in the lake and they'll provide a great opportunity for families to come back and hone their fishing skills fish over the coming weeks.
