Bess the naughty piggy when she first escaped.

Bess the naughty piggy when she first escaped.

Waihi's naughty piggy was up to more mischief last week.

Bess, the brazen boar, caused a big fuss 10 days ago when she wandered into Waihi. Last Wednesday (August 15) she did a runner again from her Savage Road pen.

Police say there was no pursuit through town and no KFC snack was needed this time.
Bess opted for a more healthy diet and was found at Cambridge Road casually munching on a neighbours' orange tree.

The pig was coerced back home by an embarrassed owner carrying a pig bucket.

Bess got a stern telling off from the police, although she offered no remorse and just grunted in reply. Waihi Police say they are considering fitting Bess with an ankle bracelet and imposing a curfew.
