From Carrfields Livestock: Levin Sale was strong on all classes of livestock. Sheep — fat ewes $120 — $140, fat lambs $120 — $140, store lambs $80 — $110. Cattle — F/H R.2. Heifers $1110, Red R.2. heifers $860, Murray Grey steers $890. A big enquiry for all livestock for paddock or saleyard sales.

NZ Farmers Livestock Ltd: A good dosing of rain in the Manawatū last weekend kept the cattle away from Rongotea as vendors hold on with the hope of an autumn grass market, says Darryl Harwood of NZ Farmers Livestock.

Two-year Friesian — Hereford steers 450kg made $1110 and 18 month Friesian — Hereford steers 342 kg made $890.

2 year Friesian heifers 277kg — 370kg made $1.98/kg — $2.20/kg.

Yearling Friesian — Hereford bulls 342kg made $890 and Belted Galloway bulls 272kg made $460.

Yearling Friesian — Hereford heifers 225kg — 235kg made $2.68/kg — $2.76/kg.
Weaner Friesian — Hereford bulls 100 kg made $350.

Weaner Friesian cross heifers 145 kg — 180 kg made $2.28/kg — $2.50/kg.

Friesian cross boner cows 371kg — 475kg made $1.35/kg — $1.38/kg and Jersey boners 405kg made $1.23/kg.

There were 90 calves for sale with autumn calving underway. Friesian bull calves $150 — $335, Friesian — Hereford bull calves $100 — $250 and Angus cross bull calves made $100 — $180. Friesian — Hereford heifer calves made $80 — $220, Angus cross heifer calves $80 — $120.
