Another big yarding of store lambs sold on a strong market at Stortford Lodge yesterday.

The yarding of about 10,000 was smaller than last week's 15,000. The quality was also better than earlier weeks. The feature of the sale was 882 cryptorchid lambs from Napier's Lagoon Farm. The lambs were in top condition and sold accordingly.

Otanepae Station, Taupo, had 1143 lambs on offer, some of them were showing signs of the drought.

There were also 1961 in-lamb ewes offered. A notable feature of the in-lamb ewes sold so far this year has been the reduced scanning percentages.

They are least 20 per cent less than usual as the long drought reduced fertility. This could have an effect on next year's lamb crop.

There were about 220 cattle on offer, many of them also showing signs of the lack of feed.

They sold on a par with other weeks.
