On today's GDT-flavoured show: John Wilson, Nathan Penny, Chris Brandolino, James Shaw, Cros Spooner and Andy Thompson.
It's the whole show in one go! Today The Country is brought to you by money. The GDT auction had a huge rise overnight and Mackay feels like celebrating.
On with the show: It's not GDT day without John Wilson. Fonterra's chairman talks about a great GDT auction result overnightwith dairy commodity prices up 11.4% and WMP up a whopping 19.8%.
Nathan Penny is getting his drinks order ready next. We ask ASB's Rural Economist (aka The Oracle) whether the payout's heading north of $6 and, if so, who's going to pay for the party at Pollyanna Penny's?
Then NIWA's weatherman Chris Brandolino forecasts this week's weather and next week's American Presidential election.
Next we catch up with Green Party co-leader James Shaw who says the latest Farmwatch video on animal cruelty in the dairy industry has gone too far with its call to "dump dairy".
Jamie also has a chat to Cros Spooner. The Beef + Lamb NZ Chief Operating Officer says the New Season Outlook 2016-17 predicts that the average farm profit before tax, principal repayment and drawings on sheep and beef farms in New Zealand will fall 13 per cent to $67,000 this season.
Finally we round the show off with our West Coast cow cocky Andy Thompson who comments from the coal face on the controversial use of hip clamps for downer cows.
