The Horowhenua Taste Trail provides a unique opportunity to get behind the scenes, and sample delicious fresh produce, directly from the source.

This year's Taste Trail takes place on Saturday 24 November and celebrates the richness and diversity of all that is grown and produced in Horowhenua.

Event manager Kathy Mitchell spoke to The Country's Rowena Duncum about some of the culinary delights on offer.

Free range chickens, strawberries, asparagus, mozzarella cheese, free range eggs and eels are all available says Mitchell.

People will also be able to pick fresh vegetables on site as well.

"It's just amazing to see the variety of food producers we have here in the Horowhenua," says Mitchell.
