Fonterra's Regional Head for Northland Mike Borrie caught up with The Country Early Edition's Rowena Duncum for a catch up on what going on in the region.

Borrie is proud to announce that Fonterra farmers did well at the NZ Dairy Industry Awards for Northland last week - in fact they had a clean sweep.

What is encouraging is that many winners are younger says Borrie.

"It's just really amazing to see the young people coming through the ranks and really performing from a dairy perspective."

The NZ Dairy Awards in Northland took place on International Women's Day and it was "pretty special," that all the nominees for the region's Dairy Trainee of the Year were women says Borrie.
