A referee has been shot and killed by a player during a lower league football game in Argentina minutes after sending the player off.
César Flores was in charge of an amateur match in Córdoba province of Argentina when he gave a player a red card. According to reports the player left the field and returned with a gun before shooting Flores.
Local reports said Flores was shot three times, in the head, chest and neck, while another player, Walter Zárate, was injured, but is understood to be out of danger, the Guardian reports.
